Convert M2TS to BMP Sequence
The BMP file format, also known as bitmap image file or
Device Independent Bitmap (DIB) file format or simply a bitmap, is a raster graphics
image file format used to store bitmap digital images, independently of the display
device (such as a graphics adapter), especially on Microsoft Windows and OS/2
operating systems. The BMP is stored uncompressed; so it's a lossless image format,
but file size is very big.
M2TS to BMP Converter Software converts M2TS to BMP sequence files.
With the software, you could get every frame image of M2TS in BMP format. The
converter software also supports other output image formats such as JPG,
PNG, and TIFF. You can convert only a part of M2TS to BMP instead of the entire
file. And you can set how many frames per second to be extracted with the software.
The output BMP files look something like this.
The software also supports other formats and portable devices such as Xvid, AU, WebM (VP8), VCD, CAF (Core Audio Format), 3G2, Windows Phone,
etc. The software could convert MPEG to MKV, 3G2 to SPX (Speex), 3G2 to WAV, 3G2 to iPhone, H264 to VCD, and so on.
M2TS to BMP Software supports batch conversion and, is compatible
with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is M2TS?
M2TS files are the standard container file format for Blu-Ray video discs.
Sony products Media Manager PRO for PSP, Media Manager PRO for Walkman,
and Mobile Media Manager PRO are all capable of converting M2TS format
to MP4 files. Optionally supported audio formats are Dolby Digital Plus,
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio and Dolby TrueHD. This is a file extension
that is used by certain models of a Sony Camcorder for their video and
audio files. Normally these files also have a separate .modd file which
contains the timestamp. In general, the Sony Camcorder will come with software
which will be able to convert these files to another file type. Almost
all commercially produced Blu-ray Disc titles use copy protection method
called Advanced Access Content System, which encrypts content of the disc
(including M2TS files). On August 2012, VLC media player 2.0.1 could convert
.m2ts files into MP4 as well. DVDFab (at least premium) can also convert
.m2ts to various other formats, including .mkv or .mp4. Files in AVCHD
format use legacy "8.3" file naming convention, while Blu-ray
Discs use long filenames. That's why the filename extension of video files
is ".MTS" instead of Blu-ray Disc's ".m2ts". Also other
files use different extensions: .CPI - .clpi, .MPL - .mpls, .BDM - .bdmv.
Some players will need an appropriate codec, component or plugin installed.
Currently, M2TS files can be played using the Picture Motion Browser, which
is an application video player provided with Sony AVCHD camcorders. After
the decoder receives the TS it can decode only the streams for the program
it's playing, and ignore streams for other programs.
What is BMP?
A BMP (bitmap) file is an image format created by Microsoft and IBM to
store certain types of digital information for use in programs and to support
certain elements of the Windows operating system. You can create BMP files
in Microsoft Paint, a graphics program that comes standard with most Windows
systems. The BMP file format is capable of storing 2D digital images of
arbitrary width, height, and resolution, both monochrome and color, in
various color depths, and optionally with data compression, alpha channels,
and color profiles. The new extended headers can be used with some GDI
functions instead of the older ones, providing more functionality. Since
the GDI supports a function for loading bitmap files, typical Windows applications
use that functionality. One consequence of this is that for such applications,
the BMP formats that they support match the formats supported by the Windows
version being run. Indexed color images may be compressed with 4-bit or
8-bit RLE or Huffman 1D algorithm. OS/2 BITMAPCOREHEADER2 24bpp images
may be compressed with the 24-bit RLE algorithm. The 16bpp and 32bpp images
are always stored uncompressed. Note that images in all color depths can
be stored without compression if so desired. While most BMP files have
a relatively large file size due to lack of any compression (or generally
low-ratio run-length encoding on palletized images), many BMP files can
be considerably compressed with lossless data compression algorithms such
as ZIP because they contain redundant data. Some formats, such as RAR,
even include routines specifically targeted at efficient compression of
such data. Bitmap file header: this block of bytes is at the start of the
file and is used to identify the file. A typical application reads this
block first to ensure that the file is actually a BMP file and that it
is not damaged. The first two bytes of the BMP file format are the character
'B' then the character 'M' in 1-byte ASCII encoding. All of the integer
values are stored in little-endian format (i.e. least-significant byte
