The BMP file format, also known as bitmap image file or
Device Independent Bitmap (DIB) file format or simply a bitmap, is a raster graphics
image file format used to store bitmap digital images, independently of the display
device (such as a graphics adapter), especially on Microsoft Windows and OS/2
operating systems. The BMP is stored uncompressed; so it's a lossless image format,
but file size is very big. VOB to BMP Converter Software converts VOB to BMP sequence files.
With the software, you could get every frame image of VOB in BMP format. The
converter software also supports other output image formats such as JPG,
PNG, and TIFF. You can convert only a part of VOB to BMP instead of the entire
file. And you can set how many frames per second to be extracted with the software.
The output BMP files look something like this.
The software also supports other formats and portable devices such as MMF, VOB (DVD Video), FLV, Xvid, CAF (Core Audio Format), SWF, WebM (VP8),
etc. The software could convert FLV to FLAC, DIVX to MPA, 3G2 to Windows Phone, H264 to MMF, OGG to VOC, and so on. VOB to BMP Software supports batch conversion and, is compatible
with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is VOB?VOB files are the DVD movie files that make up a DVD structure. A VOB file
contains all information that a DVD needs to play video, sound, menus and
subtitles. VOB video is encoded in MPEG-2. Basically VOB file is just a
basic MPEG-2 system stream -- meaning that it is a file that contains multiplexed
MPEG-2 video stream, audio streams (normally AC3 and DTS formats) and subtitle
streams. You can extract the VOB file from a DVD, but there are very few
players that are compatible with the VOB format. Each VOB file must be
less than or equal to one GiB. Windows Media Player, VLC and Media Player
Classic are all free applications that support playback for these files.
These apps make it possible to view a disc's contents without loading it
into a DVD player, and resemble each other closely in terms of media management.
Images, video and audio used in DVD menus are stored in VOB files. Digital
Versatile Discs, more commonly called DVDs, use the VOB file format for
storing the audio and video content within the same file. VOB files typically
are quite large and cannot be played once removed from a DVD. MPlayer,
VLC media player, GOM player, Media Player Classic and more platform-specific
players like ALLPlayer play VOB files. Authentication of the disc allows
the copying of individual VOB files without error, but the encryption keys
will not be copied. If the copied undecrypted VOB files are opened in a
player, they will request the keys from the DVD-ROM drive and will fail.
In addition, VOB can contain Linear PCM, AC-3 or DTS audio and subpictures
(subtitles). While all VOB files are MPEG program streams, not all MPEG
program streams comply with the definition for a VOB file.
What is BMP?BMP is an image file format created by Microsoft. Also called 'bitmap'
or DIB (device independent bitmap) file format, it is used to store bitmap
digital images mainly in the Microsoft Windows environment. The other platforms
that support the BMP file format are OS/2 and MS-DOS. The color table is
a block of bytes (a table) listing the colors used by the image. Each pixel
in an indexed color image is described by a number of bits (1, 4, or 8)
which is an index of a single color described by this table. When the size
of gap1 and gap2 is zero, the in-memory DIB data structure is customarily
referred to as "packed DIB" and can be referred to by a single
pointer pointing to the beginning of the DIB header. Windows bitmap files
are stored in a device-independent bitmap (DIB) format that allows Windows
to display the bitmap on any type of display device. The term "device
independent" means that the bitmap specifies pixel color in a form
independent of the method used by a display to represent color. The default
filename extension of a Windows DIB file is .BMP. A BMP file consists of
four blocks, or sections, of data. The first is the file header which contains
the general information about the BMP file; the second block is the bitmap
header containing detailed information about the bitmap image; the third
is the color palette with definitions of the colors in the indexed color
bitmaps; and the fourth and the last block contains the actual image, pixel
by pixel. A BMP file consists of either 3 or 4 parts as shown in the diagram
on the right. The first part is a header, this is followed by a information
section, if the image is indexed colour then the palette follows, and last
of all is the pixel data. The position of the image data with respect to
the sart of the file is contained in the header. Information such as the
image width and height, the type of compression, the number of colours
is contained in the information header.
