What is TS?
Transport stream (TS, TP, MPEG-TS, or M2T) is a communications protocol
for audio, video, and data which is specified in MPEG-2 Part 1, Systems

Internet as (usually split) recordings from HDTV broadcasts. MPEG-2 is
the format used in the DVD-Video format and is also part of the HD DVD

Its design goal is to allow multiplexing of digital video and audio and

allows for multiplexing of the digital video and audio, which means the
data is combined into a single synchronous transmission bit stream, for

Cable TV networks, and more. Transport stream is an audio, video and data
communications transmission protocol that is specified in MPEG-2 Part 1.
What is 3GP?
Audio and video container format developed by the 3rd Generation Partnership
Project (3GPP). 3GPP is worldwide standard for the creation, delivery and
playback of multimedia over 3rd generation, high-speed wireless networks.
Designed as a multimedia format for transmitting audio and video files
between 3G cell phones and over the Internet; commonly used by mobile phones
that support video capture. Audio imported from CD onto a PlayStation 3
when it is set to encode to the MPEG-4 AAC codec will copy onto USB devices
in the 3GP format. The Nintendo DSi supports .3gp on an SD card. The 3GP
file type is primarily associated with '3GPP'. It also contains descriptions
of image sizes and bitrate. 3GP is defined in the ETSI 3GPP technical specification.
A 3GP file is always big-endian, storing and transferring the most significant
bytes first. 3GPP is the new worldwide standards for the creation, delivery
and playback of multimedia over 3rd generation, high-speed wireless networks.
The Macintosh type is: 3GPP. 3GPP file format was designed for GSM-based
Phones and may have the filename extension ".3gp". Tailored to
the unique requirements of mobile devices, 3GPP and 3GPP2 take advantage
of MPEG-4, the standard for delivery of video and audio over the Internet.
These extensions were registered by the registration authority for code-points
in ISO base media file format ("MP4 Family" files). The 3GP is
structurally based on the ISO base media file format defined in ISO/IEC
14496-12 - MPEG-4 Part 12, but older versions of the 3GP file format did
not use some of its features. The MP4 and the AVC file format specifications
described usage of MPEG-4 content in the ISO base media file format.
