What is VOB?
VOB files are the DVD movie files that make up a DVD structure. A VOB file contains all information that a DVD needs to play video, sound, menus and subtitles. VOB video is encoded in MPEG-2. Images, video and audio used in DVD menus are stored in VOB files. Many DVD-Video titles are encrypted with Content Scramble System (CSS). This is a data encryption and communications authentication method designed to prevent copying video and audio data directly from the DVD-Video discs. Decryption and authentication keys needed for playing back encrypted VOB files are stored in the normally inaccessible lead-in area of the DVD and are used only by CSS decryption software (e.g., in a DVD player or software player). Each VOB file must be less than or equal to one GiB. While all VOB files are MPEG program streams, not all MPEG program streams comply with the definition for a VOB file. Basically VOB file is just a basic MPEG-2 system stream -- meaning that it is a file that contains multiplexed MPEG-2 video stream, audio streams (normally AC3 and DTS formats) and subtitle streams. Files in VOB format have .vob filename extension and are typically stored in the VIDEO_TS folder at the root of a DVD. In addition, VOB can contain Linear PCM, AC-3 or DTS audio and subpictures (subtitles). A player of generic MPEG-2 files can usually play unencrypted VOB files, which contain MPEG-1 Audio Layer II audio. Other audio compression formats such as AC-3 or DTS are less widely supported. Analogous to the MPEG program stream, VOB file can contain H.262/MPEG-2 Part 2 or MPEG-1 Part 2 video, MPEG-1 Audio Layer II or MPEG-2 Audio Layer II audio, but usage of these compression formats in a VOB file has some restrictions in comparison to the MPEG program stream.

What is Android?
Android is a Linux kernel based Software platform which has been primarily developed by Google and other member companies of Open Handset Alliance. It's mainly a Mobile OS that allows third party developers to write managed code in the Java language. Further, in 2011, Google demonstrated "Android@Home", new home automaton technology which uses Android to control a range of household devices including light switches, power sockets and thermostats. The Android phone works with an Android operating system, basic applications, and middleware. Linux is the kernel-based, and written in the language C. Android and manages applications that are written primarily in the Java language. Android powers hundreds of millions of mobile devices in more than 190 countries around the world. It's the largest installed base of any mobile platform and growing fast-every day another million users power up their Android devices for the first time and start looking for apps, games, and other digital content. Since 2008, Android has seen numerous updates which have incrementally improved the operating system, adding new features and fixing bugs in previous releases. Each major release is named in alphabetical order after a dessert or sugary treat; for example, version 1.5 Cupcake was followed by 1.6 Donut. The latest release is 4.2 Jelly Bean. In 2010, Google launched its Nexus series of devices - a line of smartphones and tablets running the Android operating system, and built by a manufacturer partner. Every day more than 1 million new Android devices are activated worldwide. Android phones are considered revolutionary in some circles because of the open source structure of the basic firmware. All developers, whether professional or hobbyists, are encouraged to write programs and applications for the operating system, and contribute to the evolving Android project by submitting them to Google's Play Store, a closed source application for Android phones. Users may then choose to download and use the applications on their phones by accessing the application library via their handsets.
