What is MPEG?
Popular video format standardized by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG); compressed using MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 compression; often used for creating movies that are distributed over the Internet. MPEG-2 is a standard for "the generic coding of moving pictures and associated audio information". It describes a combination of lossy video compression and lossy audio data compression methods which permit storage and transmission of movies using currently available storage media and transmission bandwidth. The official name of MPEG-1 is International Standard IS-11172. MPEG also standardizes the protocol and syntax under which it is possible to combine or multiplex audio data with video data to produce a digital equivalent of a television program. MPEG-4 was created to stream DVD quality video at lower data rates and smaller file sizes. MPEG-4 supports video/audio "objects", 3D content, sprites, text and other media types. MPEG-4 has become extremely popular due to the ability to fit a two-hour movie to a CD file retaining comparatively high quality. MPEG files previously on PCs needed hardware decoders (codecs) for MPEG processing. Today, however, PCs can use software-only codecs including products from RealNetworks, QuickTime or Windows Media Player. With some enhancements, MPEG-2 Video and Systems are also used in some HDTV transmission systems. MPEG algorithms compress data to form small bits that can be easily transmitted and then decompressed. MPEG movies are typically saved with an .MPG extension. MPEG-2 includes a Systems section, part 1, that defines two distinct, but related, container formats. One is the MPEG transport stream, designed to carry digital video and audio over possibly lossy media, where the beginning and the end of the stream may not be identified, such as broadcasting or magnetic tape, examples of which include ATSC/DVB/ISDB/SBTVD broadcasting, and HDV recording on tape. MPEG-2 Systems also defines the MPEG program stream, a container format designed for file-based media such as hard disk drives, optical discs and flash memory.

What is iPhone?
iPhone is recognized being a type of smartphones that has enabled multimedia and internet in it. It is also commonly known as a connection line of both these two features. Apple Inc. is the inventor and designer of this type of smartphone and they are also known as the sole distributor of iPhone across the globe. The iPhone is usually sold "locked," that is, only able to use the cellular phone service of a specified provider. Some countries do not allow locked cell phones to be sold, so unlocked versions are available legally in those areas. In addition, hackers have been able to unlock the iPhone with limited success for use on unauthorized networks. In January 2012, Apple reported its best quarterly earnings ever, with 53% of its revenue coming from the sale of 37 million iPhones, at an average selling price of nearly $660. The average selling price has remained fairly constant for most of the phones lifespan, hovering between $622 and $660. The production price of the iPhone 4S was estimated by IHS iSuppli, in October 2011, to be $188, $207 and $245, for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models, respectively. Labor costs are estimated at between $12.5 and $30 per unit, with workers on the iPhone assembly line making $1.78 an hour. Applications are technically how the iPhone works as a media player and web browser; the term, however, is also a general one that describes the downloadable programs the phone can run. The applications are extremely varied. There are applications which allow it to act like an ocarina, show the phone's location on a map via A-GPS, randomly choose local restaurants for the user, play games, or just display interesting images. Applications are developed both by Apple Inc. and third-parties.
