Convert H264 to WebM
Total Video Audio Converter converts H264 files to WebM easily. The
software is a professional H264 to WebM Converter. You could
customize video size, frame rate, and bit rate with the converter so that the output
file size is controllable. Besides WebM, the converter converts H264 files
to OGG/OGM/OGV and H.264 that are HTML5 video formats either. Then, you can
easily add your video to your
website using HTML5.
The software is also an all-in-one video converter that converts any formats
to popular video formats such as SPX (Speex), VOC, M4V, VCD, iPhone, 3G2, M4B (MPEG-4 audiobook), etc. It could convert DVD to MKA, DAT to 3G2, WebM to OGM, H263 to M4V, MKV to OGM,
and so on.
Total Video Audio Converter supports batch conversion and, is full compatible
with 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is H264?
H.264 encompasses a collection of powerful features that enable the delivery
of high-quality video at very low data rates. In December 2001, VCEG and
the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG - ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 29/WG 11) formed
a Joint Video Team (JVT), with the charter to finalize the video coding
standard. The standardization of the first version of H.264/AVC was completed
in May 2003. Both the Blu-ray Disc format and the now-discontinued HD DVD
format include the H.264/AVC High Profile as one of 3 mandatory video compression
formats. Baseline Profile (BP): Primarily for low-cost applications that
require additional data loss robustness, this profile is used in some videoconferencing
and mobile applications. This profile includes all features that are supported
in the Constrained Baseline Profile, plus three additional features that
can be used for loss robustness (or for other purposes such as low-delay
multi-point video stream compositing). The importance of this profile has
faded somewhat since the definition of the Constrained Baseline Profile
in 2009. All Constrained Baseline Profile bitstreams are also considered
to be Baseline Profile bitstreams, as these two profiles share the same
profile identifier code value. High Profile (HiP): The primary profile
for broadcast and disc storage applications, particularly for high-definition
television applications (for example, this is the profile adopted by the
Blu-ray Disc storage format and the DVB HDTV broadcast service). For example,
a level of support within a profile will specify the maximum picture resolution,
frame rate, and bit rate that a decoder may be capable of using.
What is WebM?
WebM defines the file container structure, video and audio formats. WebM
files consist of video streams compressed with the VP8 video codec and
audio streams compressed with the Vorbis audio codec. The WebM file structure
is based on the Matroska container. NVIDIA announced 3D video support for
WebM through HTML5 and their NVIDIA 3D Vision technology. The team that
created VP8 have been pioneers in video codec development for over a decade.
VP8 delivers high quality video while efficiently adapting to the varying
processing and bandwidth conditions found on today's broad range of web-connected
devices. On 19 January 2011, the Free Software Foundation announced its
official support for the WebM project. A WebM file consists of VP8 video
and Vorbis audio streams, in a container based on a profile of Matroska.
A key factor in the web's success is that its core technologies such as
HTML, HTTP, and TCP/IP are open for anyone to implement and improve. With
video being core to the web experience, a high-quality, open video format
choice is needed. WebM is 100% free, and open-sourced under a BSD-style
license. VP8 is a highly efficient video compression technology that was
developed by On2 Technologies. Google acquired On2 in February, 2010. For
more information, see the -VP8 Video Codec" section below. In mid-2010,
Simon Phipps, a board member for the Open Source Initiative, expressed
doubts as to whether the original WebM license was an open-source license,
since it had not been submitted to the OSI for approval. Also ST-Ericsson
and Huawei have hardware implementations in their computer chips. WebM
features: Low computational footprint to enable playback on any device,
including low-power netbooks, handhelds, tablets, etc.; Simple container
format; Highest quality real-time video delivery; Click and encode. Minimal
codec profiles and sub-options. When possible, let the encoder make the
