Convert OGG to 3GP
The article introduces how to convert converts OGG files to 3GP
with an easy-to-use OGG to 3GP Converter Software. The software could encode
3GP file with different codecs such as H.263, H.264, MPEG-4, AMR-NB, and AAC.
It's an ideal 3GP converter for your mobile phone. Besides 3GP, the software supports
popular formats such as TS, OGM, MP3, SPX (Speex), PPM image sequence, VCD, CAF (Core Audio Format), etc.
The software could convert EVO to VCD, MPEG to MOV, ASF to AVI, M4V to OGM, OGV to Android Tablet,
and so on.
OGG to 3GP Software supports batch conversion and, is compatible with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is OGG?
Ogg is only a container format. The actual audio or video encoded by a
codec is stored inside an Ogg container. Ogg containers may contain streams
encoded with multiple codecs, for example, a video file with sound contains
data encoded by both an audio codec and a video codec. Ogg Vorbis, which
uses the file extension OGG is one of many digital audio formats that achieves
a small file size by giving up some sound quality from the original source,
as does MP3. As of August 4, 2011, the current version of the Xiph.Org
Foundation's reference implementation, is libogg 1.3.0. Another version,
libogg2, has been in development, but is awaiting a rewrite as of 2008.
Both software libraries are free software, released under the new BSD license.
Ogg reference implementation was separated from Vorbis on September 2,
2000. Being a container format, Ogg can embed audio and video in various
formats (such as Dirac, MNG, CELT, MPEG-4, MP3 and others) but Ogg was
intended and usually is used with the following Xiph.org free codecs: Speex,
Vorbis, Opus, FLAC, OggPCM, Theora, Tarkin, Dirac, Dirac, and OggUVS. Because
the format is free, and its reference implementation is not subject to
restrictions associated with copyright, Ogg's various codecs have been
incorporated into a number of different free and proprietary media players,
both commercial and non-commercial, as well as portable media players and
GPS receivers from different manufacturers. A serial number and page number
in the page header identifies each page as part of a series of pages making
up a bitstream. Multiple bitstreams may be multiplexed in the file where
pages from each bitstream are ordered by the seek time of the contained
data. Bitstreams may also be appended to existing files, a process known
as chaining, to cause the bitstreams to be decoded in sequence.
What is 3GP?
3GP (3GPP file format) is a multimedia container format defined by the
Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for 3G UMTS multimedia services.
The MP4 and the AVC file format specifications described usage of MPEG-4
content in the ISO base media file format. The Macintosh type is: 3GPP.
3GPP file format was designed for GSM-based Phones and may have the filename
extension ".3gp". 3GPP is the new worldwide standards for the
creation, delivery and playback of multimedia over 3rd generation, high-speed
wireless networks. It also contains descriptions of image sizes and bitrate.
3GP is defined in the ETSI 3GPP technical specification. Most 3G capable
mobile phones support the playback and recording of video in 3GP format
(memory, maximum filesize for playback and recording, and resolution limits
exist and vary). Audio imported from CD onto a PlayStation 3 when it is
set to encode to the MPEG-4 AAC codec will copy onto USB devices in the
3GP format. Tailored to the unique requirements of mobile devices, 3GPP
and 3GPP2 take advantage of MPEG-4, the standard for delivery of video
and audio over the Internet. Some cell phones use the .mp4 extension for
3GP video. The 3GP file format was designed to decrease storage and bandwidth
requirements in order to accommodate mobile phones. It stores video streams
as MPEG-4 Part 2 or H.263 or MPEG-4 Part 10 (AVC/H.264), and audio streams
as AMR-NB, AMR-WB, AMR-WB+, AAC-LC or HE-AAC. A 3GP file is always big-endian,
storing and transferring the most significant bytes first. These extensions
were registered by the registration authority for code-points in ISO base
media file format ("MP4 Family" files).
